FAQs

There is no set order or number for introducing solid foods and the food you first offer will depend on your cultural background and family. It's strongly recommended iron rich foods are included in their healthy diet. Examples of some first foods for babies include: Mashed vegetables (eg pumpkin, potato, sweet potato, taro) and fruits (eg cooked pears/apple, ripe banana).

6 months. Chia seeds may be introduced as soon as baby is, which is generally around 6 months of age.

Babies can generally start eating plain, full-fat, pasteurized yogurt (regular or Greek) around 6 months old, once they are ready for solid foods. It is a good source of calcium, protein, and nutrients. Avoid yoghurt with added sugars or honey, and do not use low-fat or fat-free options before age two.
