Mango, nectarine and chia yoghurt pouches (healthy homemade snack for kids)

Mango, nectarine & chia yoghurt pouches

If you’ve got overripe fruit sitting on the bench and kids asking for snacks every five minutes … this one’s for you.

These Mango, Nectarine & Chia Yoghurt Pouches are naturally sweet, creamy, and made with simple wholefood ingredients. No added sugar. No mystery flavours. Just real fruit and yoghurt, blended and poured into your reusable Sinchies pouches.

They’re a brilliant alternative to store-bought flavoured yoghurt pouches - you control exactly what goes in, and the kids still get that sweet, fruity flavour they love.

Why you’ll love these homemade yoghurt pouches

  • A clever way to use up overripe mangoes and nectarines
  • Naturally sweet - no added sugar
  • Packed with fibre and healthy fats from chia seeds
  • Cheaper than buying pre-filled yoghurt pouches
  • Perfect for reusable Sinchies reusable pouches - better for your budget and the planet
  • They’re ideal for lunchboxes, after-school snacks, kindy days, or even breakfast on the go.

Ingredients

  • 1 mango, flesh removed

  • 2 nectarines, stones removed

  • 1 tbsp chia seeds

  • 2 cups plain yoghurt (Greek or natural both work beautifully)

That’s it. Four simple ingredients.

How to make mango, nectarine & chia yoghurt pouches

1. Blend the fruit
Add the mango and nectarines to a blender and blend until smooth.

2. Make the chia fruit jam
Pour the fruit purée into a small saucepan and stir through the chia seeds.
Gently heat over low–medium heat for 5–8 minutes, stirring often, until slightly thickened.

3. Cool completely
Remove from heat and allow the mixture to cool. It will continue to thicken as it cools — this is your naturally sweet chia “jam”.

4. Create your pouch style
Once cooled, you can:

  • Layer the chia fruit jam and yoghurt into your Sinchies pouches for a fun swirl effect, or

  • Mix the yoghurt straight through the jam for a smooth, even texture

5. Fill and store
Fill your pouches, seal tightly, and store in the fridge until ready to use.

Why make your own yoghurt pouches?

Store-bought yoghurt pouches often contain added sugars and flavourings. When you make your own:

  • You control the ingredients

  • You skip the added sugar

  • You use up fruit that might otherwise go to waste

  • You can make multiple pouches at once and prep for the week

And when you use Sinchies reusable yoghurt pouches, they’re:

  • Reusable up to 100 times

  • BPA, PVC and phthalate free

  • Dishwasher safe

  • Easy for little hands to hold

Approved by mums, loved by kids.

Tips for busy mums

  • Make a double batch and store extra pouches in the fridge for up to 3 days.

  • Freeze filled pouches for lunchboxes - they’ll defrost by morning tea.

  • Swap nectarines for peaches or berries depending on what you have.

This is one of those simple recipes that feels like a small win. You’ve used up fruit, skipped the added sugar, and stocked the fridge with ready-to-go snacks.

It’s a sinch to use!
