3 kid approved recipes and one science experiment!

We were so excited to meet the maker of these amazing, reusable food pouches – Sinchies! We immediately started talking about how much FUN they add to meal time & how much extra FUN we could have with them. We decided to test out some of their own recipes and a few of our own – including a YUMMY homemade Nutella Ice Cream that can be made in under 10mins – from start to finish! You’ll find all the FUN we had posted below…

We first found this experiment online over at East Coast Mommy – it was part of their awesome Summer Bucket List. We wanted to test it out with a few different recipes and they were all a GIANT success!! Simply make your Ice Bag using your Sinchies reusable pouch. Half fill a larger bag with ice (roughly one full ice cube tray) and half a cup of coarse Sea Salt. Simply select your recipe below and place it all in a 140g Sinchie Bag. Toss it inside the larger bag with the ice and salt mixture and shake it like crazy for 5mins. You will be surprised to find your liquid-y Sinchies reusable food pouch turns into a yummy frozen treat! *(make sure you wash the nozzle of your Sinchie before the kiddos taste their treat…a mouthful of salt would be quite the surprise! :

Our Kid Approved recipes:

1.Easy Nutella Ice Cream (Only 2 ingredients + some Strawberries to garnish)
  • 1 tablespoon of Nutella
  • 110ml Full Cream Milk
  • Strawberries to garnishyogurt-600x600
2.Frozen Blueberry Yogurt
  • 1/3 Cup of Greek Yogurt
  • ¼ cup of fresh or frozen blueberries – thawed and slightly mashed with a fork.
3.Creamy and delicious Vanilla Ice Cream This makes 7 x 140g Sinchies for this experiment OR you can make it in the 1lt bag and freeze it in the freezer (that is what we did).
  • 1 can of condensed milk
  • 400ml cream
  • 200ml Milk
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
vanila How the experiment works: The salt lowers the freezing point of the ice, so it takes longer for the ice to melt…therefore it makes the ice colder than it was before, which is how the ice cream freezes within the Sinchie in such a short period of time. Your Sinchies reusable food pouch will get VERY cold so you might choose to wrap it in a towel to avoid frostbite ;) . I think you and your kids will LOVE this experiment! I know mine sure did enjoy eating it lol!
