10 Easy Baby Food Recipes That Are Delish: From Rice Cereal and Purees Through to Solids

10 Easy Baby Food Recipes: From Rice Cereal & Purees through to SolidsWhen you’re a new parent, you want to give your baby the best food possible. But often you’re so time-poor or sleep deprived that making food from scratch can feel overwhelming. At Sinchies, we understand. That’s why we’ve put together this list of 10 easy baby food recipes. In fact, in some cases ‘recipe’ is probably an overstatement. An example of a baby food recipe might be as simple as peeling a banana and squishing it up with a fork. Homemade, healthy baby food doesn’t have to be complicated or time intensive—not at all. We hope these recipes give you some helpful ideas to make your life easier, and your baby healthier and happier. Just a quick note: we’ve included a range of ideas here for babies of different ages. So just remember that a newborn will have different dietary needs and a very limited palate; whereas, older babies can get their teeth into some solids. So pick and choose from these ideas as you see fit. We begin with purees and work our way up to solids.

Rice cereal

Let’s start simple. When transitioning to solids, often the first thing many parents try their baby on is some kind of rice cereal / oatmeal cereal / barley cereal. There are good reasons for this. It’s very plain and unlikely to cause any allergic reactions. It’s also healthy, and you can easily mix breast milk or formula in with the cereal to create a ‘literal transition’ for your baby. After all, if your baby tastes something familiar, they are more likely to eat it. Rice cereal is a really simple recipe. All you need is rice powder and water. Then just warm it up and stir.

Triple berry and pear puree

If your baby is ready to try some flavours, we’d recommend a fruit puree. Our triple berry and pear puree is full of yummy and healthy ingredients. It’s also an exciting purple colour that may get your baby’s attention. Alternatively, if you want to try a simpler puree at first, simply blend up some carrots. Voila!

Coconut yoghurt

But if you want to get a bit more creative, why not try our coconut yoghurt recipe? We’ll show you how to make your own yoghurt from scratch at home! You can even make a vegan option using coconut milk / cream.
