Pink, sweet and a little bit magic, with no food colouring in sight. The berries give the colour, and a spoonful of pink pitaya (dragon fruit) turns it properly bright. Beetroot works too if that's what's in the fridge.
Makes: 3 pouches (150ml each) · Prep: 2 minutes
Ingredients
- 1 cup (about 150g) frozen mixed berries
- 1 ripe banana
- 1/2 cup (125g) plain or vanilla yoghurt
- 150ml milk
- 1 tbsp frozen pink pitaya, or 1 tbsp grated cooked beetroot (optional, for colour)
Method
- Add everything to the blender, milk first.
- Blend until completely smooth, so no berry seeds or chunks block the spout.
- Taste it. Ripe banana is usually sweet enough, but add a drizzle of honey if you need to (not for babies under 12 months).
- Pour into the pouches, squeeze out the air and seal.
Tips
- Storage: this one has yoghurt in it, so it lives in the fridge. Drink within 24 hours and shake before serving.
- Beach or park: pack it in a cooler bag with an ice brick so it stays cold.
- Fairy party: make a double batch and line the pouches up on the party table.
- Cleaning: berries can stain, so rinse straight away, then hand wash in warm soapy water with a bottle brush.
Our new Fairy Magic pouch, with fairies, toadstools and bumblebees, was made for this one.
