Toddler drinking from a dinosaur print reusable food pouch

Green dino smoothie (with hidden spinach)

Call it dino juice and watch it disappear. The mango and banana do the heavy lifting on flavour, so the spinach sneaks in without a fuss. It's bright green, which is half the fun.

Makes: 3 pouches (150ml each) · Prep: 2 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (about 30g) baby spinach
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1 cup (about 150g) frozen mango
  • 250ml milk (dairy, oat or almond all work)

Method

  1. Add the milk and spinach to the blender first and blitz until there are no green flecks left.
  2. Add the banana and mango and blend until smooth.
  3. Check the thickness. If it's too thick to squeeze, add a splash more milk.
  4. Stand a pouch in a cup, open the zip, pour it in, squeeze out the air and seal.

Tips

  • Storage: keep in the fridge and drink within 24 hours. Give it a shake first, because smoothies settle.
  • Little hands: the 150ml size is about right for a toddler snack, and they can hold it themselves.
  • Make it thicker: add a spoonful of yoghurt or a few rolled oats for a more filling snack.
  • Cleaning: rinse straight after use, then hand wash in warm soapy water with a bottle brush. Leave it open to dry.

Pour it into our new DinoROAR pouch and it really is dino juice.
