There are around 4.3 million Australians who have a disability. Within the next five years, the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) will provide $22 billion in funding a year to an estimated 500,000 Australians aged under 65, who have permanent and significant disability. For many people, it will be the first time they receive the disability support they need.
What is the NDIS?
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is the new way of providing support for Australians with disability, their families and carers.
The NDIS will provide about 460,000 Australians under the age of 65 with a permanent and significant disability with the reasonable and necessary supports they need to live an ordinary life.
As an insurance scheme, the NDIS takes a lifetime approach, investing in people with disability early to improve their outcomes later in life. You can find more information about the NDIS here.
Sinchies and the NDIS
Sinchies is not an official NDIS approved registered provider. However, for self-managed and plan-managed NDIS clients you can purchase Sinchies from our website for your personal use, and then submit your invoice to claim back the cost under the NDIS scheme.
For NDIS managed or agency planned participants, we recommend you contact the NDIS to discuss the options available to you.
