Sinchies was founded by Sam Spunner, launching her first product the 80ml in 2012, but the idea was founded in 2010.
“Working in childcare I would see children come in with lunchboxes bursting of prepackaged food that was full of added sugar, artificial colours, flavors and preservatives. While convenient, there was minimal nutritional value in them. So I started thinking about a healthier options to fast food.”
She continued, “The idea didn’t come though until I was running my own family daycare when squeezy yoghurt took the market by storm; both parents and kids loved them. I saw how much children enjoyed their pouches of yoghurt and purees and how little ones with food intolerances missed out. There was one little girl who was intolerant to dairy and she would cry because she couldn’t have a pouch of her own. Solving her pain became my purpose and my African background where we reuse and repurpose everything, became my inspiration.”
“I couldn’t stop thinking about all the added sugars, lost nutrients and waste on the environment. Soon I was questioning, “Why couldn’t kids, parents and indeed anyone have a pouch that could be filled with their own contents?” And “why couldn’t it be reusable to cut down cost and waste?” After two years of research Sinchies was born, to give parents a convenient yet healthier, eco-friendly option,” Ms Spunner said.
Sinchies is now the largest reusable pouch company in Australia, has won multiple awards and is revolutionising the ‘fast food’ industry with fun, healthy recipes and reusable pouches that were inspired from her years as a childcare educator.
“I’m a strong believer in “you are what you eat” and love to create quick and delicious meals that busy, time-poor parents can make quickly and easily to ensure their kids have optimum nutrition, free from preservatives, sugars or additives.”
